Hi James, I paid £600 for the paint job which I know I won't get back if I were to sell the car, however I built the car myself 15 odd years ago and intend to keep it as my daily driver for another 15. It was a case of either getting it painted or buying a new car as it was becoming a bit of an embarrassment to use.
I repaired the very small amount of bodywork that needed fixing, Removed the glass (they needed re-bonding anyway), sunroof, doors, boot lid, nose cone, in fact everything that was bolted to the exterior of the car and then handed it over to be sanded and painted while I went away on holiday. The painting was done by a small garage/paint shop in Rowlands Gill, Co. Durham by a person who paints lots of classic cars (If anybody would like his phone number I will pass it on).
