Firstly, a Happy New Year to all from us in Ireland and hopefully 2010 will be another cracker.
I'm having an ongoing problem with the carb on my 1.4 2+2. The car is based on 1986 Fiesta 1.4S and has the Weber manual choke carb. Haynes manual says it's a 2V DFTM . Is this a similar carb to the XR2 with maybe different jet sizes? The problem is a major hesitation when re- applying the accelerator following being on the overrun. Also any enthusiastic right turn or roundabouts will cause the engine to cut out until car straightens up again. A local mechanic suggests fitting another carb even just to eliminate it as the source of the problem. Unfortunately all Fiestas sold here in Ireland were 1.1 litre. If anyone has a suitable carb which I could buy please let me know. Also if anyone has other ideas as to the source of the problem I'd be grateful for any feedback. I'm hoping to have it sorted for Stoneleigh and Scotland. Paschal
