Hi Derek,

If the hesitation is around the 2000rpm mark it could be running a bit
lean at the bottom end of the main jet cycle in which case a larger
main and a larger air jet may cure it. If the hesitation is below 2000
then a larger idle jet may cure it. As Jim says it could also be the
accelerator side of things. Have a look at the accelerator diaphragm
and check that the cam that operates it is ok, they tend to be
reliable but you never know. It could also need a larger pump jet.

On the primary side have a look at what idle, main, air corr and
emulsion tube (F30 is the best for almost all cars) are fitted. Also
have a look at what pump jet you are running. There are some suggested
setting on the Quantum Owners website.
