I was advised the best set up is Standard ford Si on the front and 1.1 on the rear. old Q tried all kinds of set up, but old henry could not be bettered for a standard built Q - if there is such a thing. The ford ones were from the the donor parts were fine for years till they leaked. Replacement rears were 1.1 monroe shocks these still let the rear arches rub the wheels, when the car was loaded or harsh bumps in the road. Replacing the springs (leigsford???) also did not stop the rub. Front dampers were replaced for standard Si ones as the donor from ford. these were fine till it was sold.

Hope this helps somewhat.

If I were to renew the rear suspension on my H4, obviously I could fit new XR2i springs....but haven't I read somewhere that this makes the ride very harsh ? Would I be better advised to go for "standard" springs? The car is based on an M plate 1600Si....so which model should I specify if my supplier queries the intended use?
Thanks guys.
