Its simple, just use the email address without replying to an old message. New topic started. The reason if you reply that it tacks onto an old thread in the forum view is a hidden field in the email that allows google to track the thread.
If you have two places, IMHO, you will just end up with more confusion like when is a post technical and so on, if it changes half way can it still be on the originating system and so on?
