On my way in the Quantum to the Fiat Coupe owner's club AGM on Saturday, I pulled into Tibshelf services and discovered on the sliproad I had *no* brakes - pedal to the floor, pump pump pump, nothing, nada, zip.
Eeek! Managed to get the thing slowed down on the box - a light car and a big engine has lots of engine braking, even a low compression turbo lump - and got the thing parked safely; blagged a lift to the AGM with Joe and on the return had it towed to his place where we laboured through the evening replacing the brake master cylinder. Not an easy job but easier than on the coupe, I think... finally made it home about eleven that evening.
