Next time you need some parts use the registration J372FGH, that was a Mk3 Fiesta RS1800i that i broke some years ago. If you need a Mk3.5 RS1800I Matthew may still still have a picture with the registration of the RS1800i we scrapped for his car.

Hi,
I found theCamhaft belt and pulley "kit" on Amazon of all places....
it said it was for an early Mondeo 1.8 or 20.....I finally managed to
get one using the engine number from my local guy - everyone wants a
Reg Number, and when it's not for the donor (C12YNE = CRYNE) gets you
nowhere. According to him, it was an RS1800i Fiesta, which sounds
right for the engine.
The really good news was that although there seemed to be play in the
belt, as it's pulled by the Crank and the failed tensioner is on the
"return side" the belt apparently hadn't slipped any teeth. The new
belt and pulleys have all been fitted, and the engine runs fine!
I unfortunately had to use a combination of the crank pulley removal
methods, both lowering the engine, and using a lever to moved the
engine away from the chassis member. The "modification" builder hadn't
left much room between the crank or water pump pulleys and the
rejigged chassis member when squeezing the engine in.
But, alls well that ends well, and I might be able to sort some of the
other bits and pieces out over the winter now - one good results
restores the positivity and drive!!

It's just the standard Zetec cam tensioner, your local motor factors should
have one.
You will probably have bent valves, the pistons are normally ok, they just
get a small dent in the top.
Though, if the engine was still running you may have been lucky.

Subject: [Quantum Owners] MK3 Cam tensioner needed

Hi
The timing belt tensioner on my 2+2, fitted with a 1.8i DOHC engine
has disintegrated. I've therefore looking for a replacement if any one
has one, or any help with souring one (suppliers, other cars/engines
with same tensioner)
I'll try and get a picture and upload it for reference.
Cheers
StevieCee
