I got my new shocks and top mounts today and will be fitting them on Sunday. I
had a fright last night, someone walked out in front of me, I went for the
brakes and the pedal went straight to the floor. Thankfully the handbrake
worked. I found that one of the rear cylinders was leaking fluid badly. A
replacement was £6.50 plus vat. Whilst fitting it I found that the bearing had
collapsed. Too late to get one today so a rush job in the morning before work
at 11.

The big hint on 2+2 front shocks is to release the top nut with the
weight on the wheels; that way the damn thing will actually come off
(you don't need to remove it completely until you want them off).

You may need an impact wrench - airgun or similar - to get the second
nut off; it's been a pain on occasion for me.
