Hi guys, need a bit of help on exhaust pipe sizing for the Zetec turbo project on my Xtreme. Have almost finished making the exhaust manifold and thinking about exhaust pipe sizing. Ideally to start with I wanted to use the existing pipe, CAT and silencer which are 57mm diameter pipes. Researching this via Google, found a post by a Garrett guy who states 2.5 ins (63mm) is good for up to 250 BHP. My plan is to go to just over 200BHP then in a few years up to about 250BHP. Realise this gives me an answer of 2.5 inches, but ideally to start with I was wanting to keep the existing silencer and CAT and change later, therefore was going to reduce top the 57 mm (2.25 ins) at the CAT. I may just go 2.5 all the way, but first was curious about what diameter you guys with turbos are using with what power.
For anyone interested, I am still planning to come out of winter hibernation with the turbo working - target Stoneleigh!!
