only in case of . . . . If the teeth are worn and you need to get through MOT you can spot-weld the adjuster in a position that allows you to just get the drum over the brake shoes. Then adjust the handbrake so the mot handbrake and rear brake test goes ok.

The other half often is, (the lower smaller part with a spring) so gets renewed while this part has to be transferred on and on until it wears out. My Q 2+2 had done c120,000 when the adjuster teeth wore down and slipped. I got a new set from Eddie some time ago and fit them and now the Coupe has had the same problem. It means the affected side will not hold on the handbrake and the footbrake becomes less effective. It’s an MOT fail, so it’s important to get them done, even if you can leave the car in gear when parked ………..!
