I'm not familiar with the ones used on the Quantum (I have simple windee
roundee ones) but on ones where the button is just pressed and released and the
window carries on going there must surely be a limit switch?

No, there are no limit switches.
To be honest i’ve never come across a car with electric windows that does use
limit switches.
They all rely on a mechanical stop and sometimes a thermal fuse to cover
somebody holding there finger on the switch.

There must be limit switches in the circuit to stop the window either going
too far up or down. If the upper limit switch is sticking it would prevent the
window raising.

I tried to lift the centre console but it wouldn't come off! Any idea how
it's held on? Are you saying once I've disconnected I can then pull the window
up?
