After over 17 years of having an intermittent fault on the ignition wire, I 
Finally got around to looking at it this week as it was becoming a right pain 
in the backside!

I unwrapped 18” of the wire back to where it joins up with the rest of the loom.
About half way along I found some gaffer tape.........
Under the tape was a Really bad bodged join.
Two bare wires had been put next to each other and crimped/squashed together, 
then wrapped in gaffer tape.
No solder, no heatshink, no nothing, except hope.....!

I have now replaced it with a length of new wire (properly joined).

It works now
