Have you checked the 4 fuel jets are tight? They can get loose over time and give the same result.
2 of the jets can also come apart (they are in 2 bits) so use a thin screwdriver to make the joint tight again. Also, make sure the 4 carb to manifold nuts are tight. I've been trying to investigate issues where the 2+2 starts stuttering/kicking going up hills. A fuel filter change and finding the choke linkage disconnected between the manual choke unit and butterfly seems to have improved things However I need to source a black bush/linkage clip which holds the linkage bar in place. The linkage is between the hole in the manual choke unit and the end of the butterfly. Currently I've managed to take the one off the butterfly and put it on the choke unit end and it holds the butterfly reasonably well, but a clip both ends would be the best solution. I've attached a photo of the clip.(sorry out of focus a bit) Any other thoughts on stuttering/kicking under load?
