Diodes are for working the headlight flaps in the 2+2 and saloon, so that the flaps open when you flash the lights.

You don't need them if you only want the spot lights to flash (the headlights will still flash but the flaps won't open).

Flaps will be open when lights are on full beam as they are powered from side lights.

I think 2+2 has a slightly different set up as side lights are next to indicators. Jim has done a wiring diagram somewhere.

When you mention nose cone i think of Xtreme - I dont remember diodes in my Xtreme...
