I was a little saddened to see that embedded quartz compositions don't seem to open on the iPhone version of Safari, any ideas specifically why it won't work or if there is a workaround?
When a composition runs in Safari it all happens by way of the Quartz Composer WebKit plug-in. In Safari on your Mac, open Help->Installed Plug-ins to see the full list you're accustomed to on a desktop system.
Some of these plug-ins (Flash, Java, Quartz Composer, iPhoto photocast, etc) aren't available on the iPhone. QuickTime is supported.
Workaround: Burn the QC rendering into a quicktime movie. Note to accomplish this you actually need multiple steps.
Part 1. First you Export to QuickTime from the Quartz Composer Editor - but this just puts the composition in a quicktime wrapper.
Part 2. Second you open this wrapped file in QuickTime Player Pro (or your file converter of choice) and burn it frame-by-frame into a real (stand alone) movie via the Export option there. Converting "Movie to QuickTime Movie" or "Movie to iPhone" will do the trick.
Part 3. File a feature request for QC support on iPhone. http:// bugreporter.apple.com/ Yes it would be a duplicate but every vote counts (* insert witty political aside here).
