Folks --
I am still in QC 2.1. Upgrade to leopard in the
long future.
My problem is in a core image kernel. In the
process of debugging a simple kernel ( I sample a
pixel, then return it ), I was changing the values
of the RGBa components, with the other two ( GB )
turned to Zero. I had a billboard plugged in.
The incoming signal is a "data Image". Pixels vary
from 9970 to 0.0034 in value. ( values courtesy of
mat lab and value finder kernel ). The core image
kernel involved in a viewer. incoming pixels were to
be converted to values in the 0 to 1 range. I was
not getting good results. So I hard set the GB to
0.0, and typed in values for red from 0 to 0.9. I
got green and blue pixels which I thought I could
not get.
Are the three pixel values hooked together in some
fashion? I wanna retry this today, as I am not
entirely sure I was working in a "pure spot" in the
code.
Any help with this would be appreciated.
Special Thanks to Sabetelli @ Apple and Sam Kass.
I finally have a convolution kernel of size 19
pixels for a bi lateral filter with 2 gaussians (
distance and value ) with variable mode padding
being applied. Thanks for all your help folks!

Download iVisualize.
http://web.mac.com/vogelbusch/Site/iVisualize.html
The Christoph Vogelbusch created a plugin for iTunes
that allows quartz
compositions to run as "Visualizer's" (they don't
call them screensavers,
which probably made it difficult to search for
them). Just download some of
the examples and work from there.
If you think what you create is interesting, return
the favor and post it
back to the author's web site.
Mainly the plugin allows for communication to a
Quartz Composition, so you
will be using the variables within their
compositions -- don't change them.
After that, you can do whatever you like with the
album cover or animate the
sound.
Enjoy,
Mark J
Hello everyone,
I would like to create a screen saver just like
the iTunes one
provided with OS X, but I would like to fill it in
with my own folder
of images. Any help on where to start? I have
looked inside the
package of the iTunes screensaver and tried
opening it up in composer,
but it doesn't have anything inside and won't open
because it isn't
a .qtz file. Any ideas? Thanks for the help in
advanced!!
Kevin

Hello Pierre:
I have found out that when using the Directory
Scanner in a
composition, I am now UNABLE to export a quicktime
movie that includes
the images scanned by the patch "Directory Scanner"
My question is: Is this a bug? or a feature taken
away?
If this has been taken away, how can I workaround
this issue with my
comps?
Thanks in advance.

Yep, I had the same issue. If you can, just create
a multiplexer
patch with all the paths to movies filled in, and
use that. Not the
easiest solution, but it kinda works.
Namaste,
