Shoot, I forgot to mention I do infact have Final Cut 6.0.2 installed.
I dug around and found an AppleHDVCodec.component:
/Library/Quicktime/AppleHDVCodec.component at version 1.3.1 - 860kb.
This is sounds quite new to 10.5. Awesome.
