Hey guys. The demo went very well today and we made some good
progress on our side as well. Sorry I was not at the meeting this
morning as I needed to focus on the demo.
In preparation for the demo I needed to update QC and therefore to
MK11, but in doing so had my geometry rotated on me again. From
what I can tell a few builds ago MK incorrectly rotated all models
and then fixed this in 11. Is this correct? As a result, during
the demo the Finder was still using the old MK and the QL of the
compositions showed flipped geometry. I should have checked the QL
after updating MK, but in the future I'd love an email when changes
like this are made ;)
The ship model looks strange when not in a Lighting patch. The
cockpit is not drawn black, but with a different part of the
texture. How is it that lighting makes the cockpit black?
1. Drag ship.dae into the workspace
2. Add a mesh renderer & connect
3. Set the Scale X,Y,Z = .0001
4. Set the Z Position to -3
If you then put this all in a Lighting patch, it will look as
expected.
Feature Requests:
- The ship model that we used in the demos is very large. We need a
way to scale/center objects to a unit cube if desired.
- It would be great to bring back the feature of displaying video
etc. on a model
- Composition loader needs a done signal
- QuickLooks of QC comps should use their aspect ratio. This will
require that the comps embed their viewer size when saved. Is this
currently the case?
- Embed mesh/textures in composition/bundle
Bugs:
- Composition loader does not execute OpenCL processing compositions
when inputs are updated (idle state)
Let me know if/what you'd like me to file in radar.
