Yes, there are a few sync blocks and locks involved. I will re-
examine them again before making any cavalier claims that they
couldn't possibly be involved. :)
Although I will note that flipping vertical sync off is enough to fix
the stalling on its own (without changing the locking behavior).
That of course suggests the sync block and the draw lock are not the
culprits.
