Unfortunately, I ran into this hole in the API recently myself, and
because of the way things are set up, there's not a good way to do
this right now. Please file a request.

Without this, patches only appear to use absolute paths, but we'd
like to specify a synthetic URL so that patches can use composition-
relative paths as well.
