Something like this was happening to me at some point, but something cleared it up (an update?)... I'm fuzzy on if it was an update or an aspect of the setup that cleared it up for me.
When you say loading the particle system, do you mean that placing it from the patch library onto the editor crashes it, or is it actually placing the Viewer into run mode? Is there a queue in this setup (I've anecdotally noted that high particle/queue counts can cause crashes in QC, and even incidents like log outs, protected memory be damned)? Have you tried a total reboot of your system, to make sure that nothing is hanging onto any plugins (eg., you may have removed them, but something may still have it loaded besides QC)? That shouldn't really make a difference, but sometimes stuff going on in Finder and other apps can interplay with QC, and cause crashes of one or the other, or all. Lastly, maybe try creating a new user, if you don't have an alternate, log in, and see if it does this under the other user. If it doesn't consider scrapping your QC prefs. -George Toledo On Tue, Aug 3, 2010 at 2:09 AM, Alex Beim <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi > > I am getting an instant crash when i load int the particle system from the > library > I have cleared all plugins to make sure there was nothing else and I still > get it > I am running 10.6.4 and GeForce 9400M > > Any ideas? > > Thank you > > > _______________________________________________ > Do not post admin requests to the list.
