That QC you attached seems to have multiple disconnected elements. Was
that the right one?

RE: Your second question, if you want to complicated animated things
in with images etc and output the result as an image, then try the
Render In Image patch — this is like a view on to another quartz
composition, which is output as a bitmap image.
