I came to Lion very late but have never seen an interaction example that actually works (having skipped from Leopard to Lion). I have made many of my own interaction macros from first principles as a consequence but they can't interact with the special 'interaction' ports whatever it is that they do (mouseover port doesn't tell me anything).
It's ridiculous to suggest that Apple can't afford even a recent grad to fix primary level functionality on QC but that seems to be the reality in lieu of any other explanation.
