Uninstall your plugins, including any that may be in the Home Library directory (hold Option while viewing the "Go" option in Finder's menu to access that folder). Then go to the /Library directory and check those.
Hopefully no third party plugins are in your System/Library, just leave the Apple provided patches there where they are. All in all, that's three places to look for old plugins from a previous install. Once all of those are out, I bet your editor problems will clear up, if you do have the most current version of QC running. It sounds like maybe you have an old version of kinemecore running.
