you hit the spot, 
deleting the image with string patches solves the problem.

I can see in the thread started by Adrian Ward that someone talks about 
“reasonable updates” of text strings, the issue was discussed earlier. I’ve got 
dozens of compositions with hundreds of "image with string” patches and they 
are stable, but this one is intensive from a string update point of view. 

Still, the weirdest thing is, I was building the comp with the viewer running 
all the time, and it did not crash in the first place. The bug appeared later, 
when i reopened it. So is it really an image with string problem?

I’m on AMD Radeon 6770M, macbook pro late 2011.

Where are you, Christopher? We need you… your silence doesn’t make me feel 
comfortable.
Quartz Composer dying too soon, the alternative not really born yet… Troubled 
times.
