Jerry,

as a workaround you could control the movies players patch timing: You would 
have to set its Time base to be „external“. Now you can connect e.g. a 
„Timeline“ patch to this time input and replicate the animated gifs timing in 
the Timeline patch. Could be a fiddling, thought.
