Hmm, HD graphics 2000 looks like old Sandy Bridge, so preliminary HW support should not have any effect in theory. Also, installing a new kernel is not much likely to help (it would be if you had a recent GPU that is too new for the kernel), but you might try it.
Eva, what does «sudo rmmod i915» do? If it proceeds, then the driver doesn't recognize the GPU. If it doesn't, then the driver recognizes GPU, but there is something wrong with config or with the driver. You might also try checking if the same issue happens in Fedora 23.
