Hi Joe,
This is the content of my EFI/qubes directory after installing
Qubes 4.0-rc3 in EFI mode :-

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 2056349 Nov 28 17:29 xen.efi
I then selected which EFI directory to boot from using the bios.
I think the EFI/Boot directory is just a default.
