If you want to tunnel your RDP connection through your VPN connection, then try connecting to the RDP server via its tun0 (private LAN) IP address. Example: openvpn's default subnet IIRC is 10.8.0.0/24 which means that the RDP server on your VPN server is listening on 10.8.0.1:3389. Make sure your server is accepting incoming connections on port 3389.
