This is a very appropriate question, since we mentioned in our 4.0.2-rc1 announcement that "If no major issues are discovered in 4.0.2-rc1, we expect the stable release of 4.0.2 to follow in a few weeks." [1] It's been more than a few weeks since then, so it's a good question. Unfortunately, two major issues were discovered: 1. An update bug that affects Debian 10 and Whonix. [2] A fix for Debian is already available. The fix for Whonix is in development. 2. A pending security issue that the Qubes Security Team is currently addressing. We don't currently have a timeline for how long it will take to address these issues, but we're currently working on them and will provide an update as soon as we know more.
