I don't know my settings by heart (on the mobile now), but I also disliked this: When my screensaver is activated it starts to darken the screen within 5 seconds or so, and even if I move the mouse or hit a key, the screensaver continues to blacken and lock the screen. On other systems the actual locking (and darkening) can be aborted by providing some key or mouse activity while the screen is still fading. I think this is more user-friendly than the Qubes OS behavior.
