Additionally this version contains some new features: - The Windows system clock is slewed quickly (in a 2 second period) to account for the leap second. - Detection of the leap second announcement, and insertion of the leap second are reported in the event log. - If the new parameter -M is given on the command line then the NTP service sets the Windows multimedia timer to highest resolution as long as the service is active. This prevents the Windows system time to step back and forth when other applications modify the multimedia timer, as discussed recently in this newsgroup. - An event log message is generated if the service is stopped. - The statistics file is now by default correctly named "sysstats" instead of "systats". The reason the new version having been made available so late are some stability problems which had been observed with earlier versions under Windows. As of writing this posting, the modified code has not been submitted to the bitkeeper repository, we'll do that as soon as possible. Merry christmas and best regards, Martin -- Martin Burnicki Meinberg Funkuhren Bad Pyrmont Germany _______________________________________________ questions mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ntp.isc.org/mailman/listinfo/questions _______________________________________________ questions mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ntp.isc.org/mailman/listinfo/questions
