Depends on your requirements:

if you want your system time to be about the same as one time source
some of the time then use ntpdate or similar; it is good enough for most
workstations;

if you want your system time to be close to the best estimate from a
selection of accurate time sources all of the time then use ntpd; you
can also then serve accurate time to other clients.
