All,

I am trying to find out under what conditions ntpd writes to my H/W
clock (an I2C RTC chip).

 From the docs, it seems :

disable ntp


should prevent this, but it doesn't- I see ntpd write to the RTC upon
startup, and I'd like to know if it writes to it any other times (and
prevent it from doing so).

I'm using 4.2.0 on a PPC (MPC5200) board.
