Just a head's up for folks wanting to convert ntp servers to Fedora-7. It seems like the new kernel (2.6.21-1.3194) has quite a bit of clock jitter. The two machines I've installed it on are now both showing regular excursions to +/- 250ms. This is on two machines that used to be rock solid with single-digit millisecond offsets under the two previous Fedora versions. As if that weren't enough, the distributed version of ntpd (ntp-4.2.4p0-2.fc7) will periodically step and then hang. Folks running ntp servers might want to avoid upgrading till this gets sorted out.
