Hi Tom. Thanks for the tips, and yes I'll go to a more relevant list for FreeBSD details like this, I just threw it in to illustrate some slight frustration with it. Otherwise, I do sort of like the OS. As to it's timekeeping reputation, from what I can see on t'interweb, that seems justified. >From what David Taylor hints at, maybe I bite the bullet, and get one of those BifferBoards, after asking somewhere about minimising FreeBSD's footprint, and making a bootable system for embedded "things" etc. Steep (near vertical!) learning curve at the moment.
