Unless he is doing common view observations on something

I'm setting up a multi-datacenter Cassandra instance. Cassandra cares a
little, but the data I'm inserting I need to have ordered.
I was thinking that having ~1 millsecond offsets would be nice,
definitely less than 5 ms.
