That's odd. When a source becomes unsynchronized (stratum == 16 or leap == 3), the reachability should drop to 0 after 8 polls and ntpd should select another source, even if the source was specified with the "prefer" options. Can you please post a tcpdump output showing the server responses and output of "ntpq -c as -c rv &1" command? > remote refid st t when poll reach delay offset jitter >============================================================================== > *172.99.99.100 .GPS. 1 u 83 256 377 2.924 0.010 0.185 > -172.99.99.200 .GPS. 1 u 31 256 377 3.978 0.165 2.811 > +10.99.99.100 .GPSi. 1 u 12 256 377 1.465 -0.125 0.110 > +10.99.99.200 10.99.99.100 2 u 55 256 377 2.238 -0.015 0.107 -- Miroslav Lichvar _______________________________________________ questions mailing list questions@lists.ntp.org http://lists.ntp.org/listinfo/questions
