At each step, you say that it's necessary to use "quilt add", and then
"quilt edit". AFAIK, this is now true.

You can do either:

 $ quilt add foo.c
 $ your_favorite_editor foo.c

Or:

 $ quilt edit foo.c

(quilt edit automagically does the job of quilt add + runs your
favorite editor).

BTW, didn't you see the PDF documentation of Quilt ? It's almost the
same as your tutorial.
