Of course, we all know there's an API for quotes plus included on the  
disk for accessing the database from VB, but I wonder if it's possible  
to access the database by bypassing the SDK altogether. I would like  
to access the database using languages and platforms that mount the  
database over shared volumes.

That is ideal when you don't want to deal with Windows and develop  
primarily under Unix or some other platform.
