Thank you, Gary.

I backed up the registry using the batch file, then ran the update. The
downloader hung on no mutual fund data for 3/26 so I switched to the HGSI
update which ran without a problem. Then re-tried the downloader and it's
happy. ASCII exports came through the upgrade just fine. Corrupted data now
fixed.

Hello Earl

There was a problem at one of our servers, and some data files got corrupted
there, it's been resolved, but anyone who downloaded those files would have
a problem with those indexes

The QP3 install will keep your registry entries, that's where all of the
ascii information is kept, and the ascii export will work as it did before.

However, you may want to backup the registry first, I've attached a batch
file that will save the qp registry entries, it contains these 2 lines:

REG EXPORT "HKLM\Software\Quotes Plus" C:\QP_LocalMachine.reg
REG EXPORT "HKCU\Software\Quotes Plus" C:\QP_CurrentUser.reg

When you save the attachment, you'll have to change the extension to .BAT
from .TXT, I don't think yahooo will resend the .bat file.

When you run it, 2 files are created on your C drive C:\QP_LocalMachine.reg
and C:\QP_CurrentUser.reg

You can restore the registry entries by double clicking on those files.

Instead of running the batch file, you can copy each REG EXPORT line into
the run window on your system, just click Start - Run, then copy each REG
EXPORT line into the window and click OK.

Make sure the .reg files are created on your C drive before installing. You
can view them with notepad, they're just text files.

Best regards

Gary Lyben

Gary,

#1 I don't understand why this has happened to me and to other users?

#2 I have 2.3 installed. The downloader wants to install 3.1. What are the
consequences of this change? Are may existing ASCII export setups/formats,
of which I have a great many, going to be preserved?

Gary,

LO1600 is corrected now, thank you.

!COMP for 3/24 showing hugely negative numbers.
!NDX is corrupted from 2/15 ... was not corrupted as late as 3/21
!VXO is corrupted on 3/21, some Fed data missing ... was not corrupted as
late as 3/21

... probably more, just haven't found them yet. I did major weekend review
using data on close 3/21 and found no such issues so something has happened
which has retroactively screwed up the data.
