Hello

For Vista, the Ascii export program has to be run as administrator, that
program deletes entries from the registry, and that action is only allowed for
administrators on Vista.

You only need to run it as administrator when adding or changing a format.

Go to Start - programs - Quotes Plus, right click on the ascii export program,
choose run as administrator.

Now you can add the format you need, then save it.

You won't have to do that for normal exports.

Best regards

Gary Lyben

Subject: [quotes-plus] QP2 installation on Vista

I have recently changed computers and now am running Vista Home
Premium 64. I got a new installation disk from QP2 (after trying at
their insistence the download from the site which took 6 hours on my
slow ISDN connection, and then failed because of a dropped line) and
have a problem with the Ascii export. I have to specify a new format
from the ascii menu that is necessary for my charting package. This is
one of the selectable formats (Date, yymmdd, open, high, low, close,
vol 100's)and has worked for years on other computers on XP. The
program lets me select the format but when I hit the save changes
button it locks the program and will go no further. The computer isn't
locked just the program. Coincidentally I also have XP 64 operational
and it runs this part fine but the download seems to go back to the CD
date (Aug 20) every day and downloads all that data again as well as
today's data. I'm at a loss and sent a message to QP two days ago but
have heard nothing. Does anyone have any suggestions? I would prefer
to run the entire operation on Vista, since it seems to be more stable
and is where most of my other stuff is. Thanks in advance.
