Hi all,
downloaded win32 version
(<http://www.qutecom.org/downloads/QuteCom-2.2-RC3-setup-release.exe>,
installed, got it working.
Problems, though.
1. Ran it after installing on a moderately clean VM (using VMware
server), immediately got Win32 error that msvcr80.dll was missing. Not
good. Downloaded vcredist_x86.exe which fixed the problem. I suggest
you include this as part of the install, or at very least provide a
clean link and say that you must install this before/afterwards. I
used
<http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=200b2fd9-ae1a-4a14-984d-389c36f85647&displaylang=en>
which is fairly important because otherwise people will look for any
link which seems to provide msvcr80.dll on the Web (there are plenty
of those) and install that, and some of it will be malware.

2. Once I install that I tried running it and it immediately asked me
to fill in some details. I didn't know what to put in - in the first
field was expecting to put in [email protected], which is the
free sip place I had registered with, but it turns out it wanted
cancan479 in the first field and sip.antisip.com a little further down
in the domain/realm part -- but it didn't make this clear! When I got
it wrong it just threw me straight out without telling me why!

And when I clicked on the 'help' button, nothing happened. Explaining
how the program works is one of the most vital and yet one of the
simplest things to do (compare to coding it is trivial). If you want,
I can provide feedback and help you make it easier for new users --
and I am fairly IT savvy. The guy I will be communicating with would
not know where to start.

cheers

jan
