I followed the practice a while now but as nobody (at MDBSys) did criticize I also didn't.. But: I feel that opening a new ticket for asking a "simple" question[1][2][3] is just overkill. Browsing the tickets gets really a PITA and there should be clear guidlines for opening a new ticket or at least something like "If you want to ask a question use the mailing list!"
