Subject: Re: QWS List introduction and a question.
Hi Joseli,
... is there a way I can get a list of all the instruments in
the different sound fonts so I can use them in qws?
Not directly. QWS does not explicitly "support" soundfonts, but if you
set
a track to a soundfont device it will use them no problem.
In other words, you can take advantage of all the facilities offered by
sound fonts, but QWS cannot do anything special just because it's a sound
font device.
Well, that's the bad news, now for the good news:
Even without an instrument list, you can always enter any program and bank
number you want and the sound font device will select the appropriate
sound.
So, you have access to all your sound font sounds even without a list.
Actually, this applies for any synthesiser, you just got to know the
numbers
if you don't have a list, that's all.
If you haven't loaded any extra sound fonts, then the likelihood is that
your sound font device will be either GM or GS. This means you can use
the
standard GM or GS instrument lists.
If, however, you did load extra soundfonts, you will probably have used
the
Creative Sound Font Manager program. In which case, you know what you
loaded. The manager will display all the names of the instruments.
If you get enthusiastic, you can make your own instrument list too-
details in the manual.
Hope this is some kind of help.
James.
