That, unfortunately, is the fault of the default microsoft gs wavetable synthesizer. If you had something like a creative card, or better yet vst synths, this probably wouldn't become such an issue. Which operating system are you running. If vista, there could be a problem, but xp works a lot better with audio-related applications.
