I haven't gotten into the note editor part of this yet. That's a place for
future exploration.

Doesn't the note editor help you with the correction of small portions of 
the music? I ask because of the measure problem you are having. Also, the 
zoom option can help you to check the song beat per beat instead of whole 
measures.
