Hi Matt, When you say you shut down the laptop, do you mean you put it to sleep/suspend, or properly shut it down?
If sleep/suspend, then possibly the handle to some open resources are no longer valid upon reawakening and some things might need refreshing. Try this: Options menu -> Ports, just press the OK button. This will cause QWS to close and re-open all MIDI pots. It might work... With best regards, James.
