Hi folks, Just to clarify:
For nearly all of the tools, you can either not select anything - in which case the tool is applied to the entire track; or you can select a portion of a track and the tool only applies to that portion. To select a portion of a track, you have two methods: either use the Left and Right markers and then use the Select Marked command, alternatively you can simply use Shift and the left/right cursor keys, just as you would in a word processor.
