Hi, not long ago, last month i think it was, I used qws specifically to
convert a bunch of midis across from type 0 to type 1.
I had no issues at all.
Could you send us one of the type 0's that does this so we can try a few
things and see if we can figure out what's happening/
Thanks in advance.
Cheers!

Subject: QWS List converting between midi types
Hi all,
I have some type 0 midi files I would like to convert to type 1.
However, when opening the type 0 files in QWS and performing a track
split, one or more of the tracks are time shifted by what seems like a
random amount. The time shift only seems to occur when I save the file,
however it is a tedious and painstaking task to glide the moved tracks
back into place, as you can imagine. So two questions:
1. James, can you look into this bug and see if there is a way to
prevent it in some future version? Or is there some work around with QWS
that could make this easier? I'm very patient; I don't need it fixed
right away, but I don't think we can ignore a bug like this...
2. Is there a free program which can convert between midi types? That
way, i could use the converter to convert the midi, and then edit the
converted midi with QWS if I need.
I hope this is a relatively easy problem to solve... imho, anyone who
messes with midi should have a way to do this kind of conversion,
however that may be.
Thanks for reading, and happy midi-ing!
